How to Find a Cheap Health Insurance Plan

With the recession causing even more unemployment, health insurance is becoming an increasing burden on family resources. Here are some resources and programs you should consider when trying to shave off some of the rising costs of health care:

1. Workers’ Compensation

Commonly known as Workers’ Comp, Workers’ Compensation is a program that helps pay for injuries that have been incurred on the job. So if you throw out your back lifting a bag at work, you may be entitled to free or reduced medical care with your state insurance health plan. Any permanent injury is often compensated with a small stipend until you reach retirement age. So if your treatment is the result of an on-the-job injury, your employer must offer to pay with your company’s Workers’ Compensation program.

2. Individual/Family Health Coverage

Most people assume that if their employer doesn’t supply insurance, it’s impossible to get insured. Individual/Family Health insurance plans, however, are another option. Just as you buy home or life or car insurance, you can go to a company and buy health insurance. While these are generally more expensive than group insurance plans, you can negotiate your deductible and pick and choose your policies to fit your budget. Choosing an emergency deductible policy is the best way to maintain a low cost health insurance plan. That way, you can keep a Health Savings Account for smaller health issues, and you ca keep down your long-term costs.

3. Short Term Health Insurance Coverage

If you are in between jobs, Short term health insurance coverage is a great way to maintain coverage while waiting for a new job to start. To do this, purchase insurance from a private company (similar to an individual health plan), but only stipulate a small amount of time. This will keep your premium low.

4. Group Insurance from Private Organizations

America isn’t really a country that revels in the culture of private clubs and organizations. It’s a shame, because a lot of groups offer discounted health care for their members. Just like with an employer membership, an organization uses its large numbers to negotiate better deals for its members. If you are a member of the Northwestern University Alumni Association, you can get a variety of cheap insurance choices. It’s also possible to research what organizations have the best insurance programs and then join.

No matter what you decide, make sure the plan has the level of coverage you want, and don’t skimp on programs you’ll need for prices you want.

Best low-insurance car for new driver (UK)?

I’m looking to get my first car fairly soon. I’m still learning to drive and I would probably get the car and insurance before I take my test… on this topic I’ve noticed its cheaper for insurance on a provisional license than on a full but new license, but does this mean that once I get my full license my insurance will go up!? I understand that new drivers can be complacent and whatever, but this still doesn’t make much sense to me.

Anyway, back to the question…
I’m quite tall (6"4′ ish, maybe a bit more) so I’m looking for something with a bit more room in it. I can’t really fit in a Peugeot 205 and my sister’s Yaris is also a bit of a squeeze.

I’ve been looking at Vauxhall Astra’s (2006ish) which fall just within budget and seem quite nice, but the 1.7l engine model (which is what all the ones for sale seem to be) is an insurance group 6.

Am I likely to find anything a similar size in a lower insurance group or am I wanting too much?

I’m not bothered by engine size and I suspect a 1.4l or 1.2l would fall into a lower insurance category. Problem is I can’t find any similar cars with anything less than around a 1.6l.

My budget for the car is around £4000. Not bothered much by high mileage cars.

In terms of budget for the insurance, its whatever works out as cheapest. For the 1.7 Astra I was getting quotes of around £3200 which is quite frankly ridiculous – I could buy another car for that!

So basically, if anyone has any suggestions for hatchbacks that would be cheaper to insure, please send them my way!

Thanks

For car insurance the quickest way to get a cheap quote is do a auto policy comparison. If you choose the same coverage amounts, you can get an accurate quote to compare against others. Use the same zipcode, auto make and model, mileage and driving history to ensure you get accurate comparison. To get mulitple auto quotes, go to http://www.autoadviceonline.com/Auto-Insurance-Quote.html and you can compare all the major auto insurance companies.

How to Obtain Online Auto Insurance Quote

From the quacking ducks to talking lizards, all ask you to sign for the insurance on their company’s website by the constant bombardment of the advertisements. But you are not sure if these companies will give you the best auto insurance rate for your desired coverage.

First and foremost thing before opting online car insurance is that you understand which items are essential for protecting you and your assets. I think you know very well that all the insurance policies look alike, but you should research well to comprehend both the company and your unique situation.

The next step you should think over is your Budget. It will answer the question of how much you can afford for auto insurance premium annually. How much deductible you are ready to pay. Many websites have budget calculators.

After deciding on your Budget, Please visit website http://www.foranu.com/site and search to see what others are paying for auto insurance. This free service allows users to search on number of criteria’s and displays how much premiums others are paying and from who they are buying these policies. Doing this step will give you an idea of how much you can expect to pay for auto insurance and which companies offer the best rates for users.

Please contact the short listed auto insurance companies from above step. Most of them offer online forms. Fill up their application to get a suitable auto insurance policy for your vehicle.

By means of comparison, it is damn easy to choose one that fits your perfect need. Moreover, I found that Internet paves way to save money on quote comparison.

It is imperative that you get quotes from at least five auto insurance companies. Generally, I’ll log on to these top-level companies online to get different quotes.

It might be a Herculean task to select an online auto insurance supplier for getting free quotes. It is highly advisable to choose a company that offers a simple application process and has excellent service reviews. Moreover check with them that when giving auto insurance quote they are not running credit check on you. Please avoid such companies unless you are sure they will give best quote. Having many credit checks affects your credit history adversely.

After choosing the quote that you like, you can either pick to collect the insurance rate through mail or accept the quote right then and there. You’re assured to save money on both these ways.

Your First Step To Debt Relief Is Creating A Workable Budget

Everyone must borrow at some time in their life. There are certain items that we have to buy out of necessity, but we can’t pay in full just yet. An example of this is a home or tuition for college.

Eventually, however, loans come due and you as the borrower must start repaying at the terms agreed upon between yourself and the lender. If you have a little discipline and can plan out how much you should save each and every month in order to meet these payments, you will be able to uphold your obligations.

Prioritize your bills by making a list so it would be more organized because you could see it right in front of you. Also, establish which payments hold a higher importance over those you could schedule paying some other time.

Essential Debt:

The most important debts are what you can refer to as essential debts.

The essential debts are debts that should be on top of your list, such as:
- Rent or mortgage. These are the most basic of debts because you need to have shelter.

- Child support. If you don’t pay on time, there’s a possibility you can be held behind bars. Besides, your children are your future and you don’t want to mess that up now do you?

- Utility bills. With every paycheck set aside a budget on gas, heating, water, electricity or telephone. In doing so, when the bill comes, then you have something prepared.

- Car payments. This also includes car maintenance.

- Other secured loans. If you don’t repay collaterals, the creditor takes the property even without court interference.

Non-Essential Debt:

These can be set aside because when these aren’t paid, you won’t feel as many repercussions. It’s a desired goal, as paying off all your debts should be, but not really a priority. The only concern that can be considered when you don’t pay non-essentials debts for a long period of time is the negative image it could project on your credit report.

- Department store and gasoline charges. Failure to pay these charges may result in losing credit card privileges. If it’s too large, you might be sued.

- Loans from friends and relatives. Morally speaking, there is an obligation to pay but sometimes since they’re family, we think that they will understand if we can’t. Check with them if you can delay the payment and ask them for how long.

- Legal and accounting bills. If these remain unpaid after a long period of time, then that’s when you might be sued.

- Newspaper and magazine subscriptions. Little by little, if you haven’t paid, they’ll amount to so much

- Other unsecured loans. In unsecured loans, there’s no collateral for the debt. This means that the creditor can sue and then collect the debt.

Here’s the confusing part. Some of the bills border between essential and non-essential. If you let these bills defer for a long period of time, it could have consequences in your personal life.

- Auto insurance. The consequence in some states is losing your driver’s license.

- Medical insurance of bills. If you have a tainted record, you might have a hard time getting new insurance in the future.

- Credit and charge cards. If you don’t pay your bills on time, you might lose your credit privileges and would have a hard time applying for a new credit card.

Now that we laid out the groundwork on how you can prioritize which bill to pay first, we move on to having a time frame.

It’s best that you have a calendar in front of you. A palm pilot or the calendar in your Microsoft Office program will do. Mark the dates wherein you would have to pay the specific debt – be it essential or non-essential. Then what you can do is set aside the bill that is allotted for that debt.

As for the budget, prevention is always better than cure. You know how much you get in a month. That being in mind, you must allot how much percentage of your salary shall go to which bill. Then do your best to stick to that budget.

EASY BUDGET TIP:

Write down your monthly income on a piece of paper. In another column write down all your monthly expenses. Total them up and compare them. Hopefully your income outweighs your expenses and you have a surplus. If that’s the case then you can save a little each month to have as an emergency fund or you can pay a little extra on one of your bills.

Even in a budget, you must list which is number one for you. Have the discipline to stick to your priority, your budget and your time frame. If you succeeded, paying the bills won’t be any problem.

What is a fast car that is in a relativley low insurance group?

I was looking at a 1.6 Honda Civic Type S as that is insurance group 6, but they seem to be hard to come by. They are mostly 2.0 and that is group 11 which is too high as I am only 19.

Budget is around £3500.

Any ideas welcome. Can go over budget and put the car on finance for the right car.

get a 99′ firebird.
and turbo that shiiiiiiiiit.
