while you probably could most car insurances will offer you a discount for insuring your second car with them. for example our main car costs about 72$ a month to insure but our second car only costs 14$ a month on the same policy.

Insuring a person to drive any car is rare, and usually reserved for the motor trades.

People are insured to drive specific cars, so the answer to your question is Yes.

you cant double insure yourself for the same vehicel if it is on separate cars then yes there is no problem with holding more then one policy. must likely thou if it is for two cars you are best to combined them and get a multi car discount. If it is for only one car you own then yeah no one is going to not take your money and place insurance on a car you already have insured but only one company is going to pay out and that will be the one you signed up with in court. If you need higher coverage just raise your limits you will save sticking with the same company rather then openning up a whole new policy with finanace charges and all the other bs products they sneak on there

Yes, I actually have four. I don't tell the insurance agents about the others except for the antique cars.

Not on the same car, however if you own two cars you may have two separate policies. It is often cheaper to have multiple cars on one policy since a discount is given for the second car.

Yes you can. You will however, only get one no claims bonus allowed. The second policy will start from scratch and you will have to build up your no claims. Some insurers may give you a complimentary discount on the second policy if you have proved to be a good risk with your first policy.

yes you can but you will only receive your full no claims bonus on the 1st car you will have to start again with the 2nd one although some insurance companies may give you a discount hope this helps

Do you want to PAY for two separate insurance policies?!

If you already have a policy…….read what it says about OTHER insurance. I could tell ya but – one thing I've learned being in this business for so long is that people need to READ their policies and understand what they are and are not entitled to.

    Pays to know.

Yes, but, when renewing either policy you have to declare if you have had any claims or accidents in 3 or is it 5 years, you can't just say "but I've only claimed on one" and believe me the insurance Co's know

Insuring the same car twice makes both policies void therefore your driving with none – An offence, which you should be jailed for! or your eyes poked out so you can never drive

Yes but why not go to the same company and perhaps get a form of discount.
Having said that do not take our two policies on the same car because you will be wasting your money. Insurance is an indemnity not a way of making a profit out of an accident

Yes – no problem – providing that they won both vehicles.

(Eac car earns and loses its no claims bonus separately so don't make the mistake of assuming you have 6 years bonus on the second car quote just because you have 6 years on the first)

(If you go to an insurance broker then you can have both cars insured through the one agent – even if they are with two different companies – helps with the admin – you know who to call whichever car it is and amazingly you might still get some service)
